Christina Gomes

Founder located in Orange County, Huntington Beach, CA
Christina Gomes is the Founder and CEO of Genesis New Beginning She has extensive years of experience working in the human service sector in both federal and private-funded programs. She is a Southern California native who grew up in San Diego, California, completed her college education in Los Angeles, California, and is now a resident of Orange County, California.

Christina has a passion for assisting those locally, strictly focuses on her community, and understands the need for the services Genesis New Beginning provides for the beach communities of Southern California.

Expertise in Client Coordination and Legal Advocacy

Christina brings with her clinical knowledge for client coordination of care, with a long history of understanding the legal system. Christina started her career as a case manager for victim advocacy, working in the military hospitals and transitioning into the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office. With this experience, she has extensive knowledge of understanding the demands legal obligations can have on a client and the client’s family. She has taught and trained her staff on how to handle bail bond warrants, obtain restraining orders, seek safety shelters, obtain funds from victim advocacy grants, navigate through the parole and/or probation system, and handle drug courts within the state.

Christina worked for federal programs and mirrored Genesis New Beginning's comprehensive care clinic after some of those programs. With these concepts is a whole client coordination of care that encompasses clinical and medical care for all clients that enter Genesis New Beginning.

Christina and her team welcome you to give them a call or visit them in the office, as walk-ins are always welcome, and questions are given with direct answers. Genesis New Beginning hopes when you interact with them that you experience a welcoming, safe, and stable environment.

Courtney Scott, MD, DO

Emergency/Addiction Medicine located in Orange County, Huntington Beach, CA

Dr. Courtney Scott is our medical director/doctor here at Genesis New Beginning Dr. Scott has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master’s in Business Administration, and, of course, a degree as a Doctor of Medicine.

Dr. Scott is an award-winning physician & surgeon. He won the AFAM/LMKU Kenneth Award for Scholarly Achievements in Psychology, as well as outstanding performance for his knowledge of internal medicine. He was recognized three (3) years in a row by the Keck School of Medicine at USC. He has also been recognized by the African American A-HeFT, Children’s Hospital of Los.

Genesis New Beginning

Maria Littleton, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist located in Orange County, Huntington Beach, CA

Maria Littleton is a Licensed Psychotherapist. She is the Clinical Director of Genesis New Beginning. Maria has a background in psychology and counseling. She obtained her degrees at California State University of Fullerton. Maria has a long history of working with families and individuals in addressing mental health issues. She currently has a private practice, is also the clinical director of an alcohol and drug detox facility, has a retreat program, and is currently working on a podcast that focuses on dismantling the stigma of mental illness.

Some of Maria’s previous work includes developing and implementing a Crisis Response and Emergency Psychiatric Evaluation program for the County of Santa Barbara. In the process of this project, Maria developed strong relationships with other community partners such as local law enforcement, emergency medical technicians, fire department, and local hospitals and healthcare providers in raising awareness about mental health and developing a community team approach. During her career with the County of Santa Barbara, Maria also trained and educated local law enforcement and fire department personnel on the multiple facets of psychiatric crisis.

Genesis New Beginning

Matthew Gibbons, Psy.D

Psychologist located in Orange County, Huntington Beach, CA

Dr. Gibbons is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who was trained at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago. His experience includes working within a multitude of settings, including Private Practice, Hospital and Rehabilitation, Long-term care facilities, and Universities. He works with individuals of all ages and across many different areas. Dr. Gibbons was trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) by a leading practitioner, Dr. Art Freeman, who is a distinguished Clinician, Author, and Director in the field. Dr. Gibbons developed Gibbons Performance Consulting as a resource for individuals who are seeking change and improvement in their lives.

Dr. Gibbons works with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and performance issues, providing services that span from anxiety reduction to overcoming depression to performance enhancement. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, this is a highly personalized approach tailored to each client and their individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.

Enrique Rodriguez

located in Orange County, Huntington Beach, CA

Enrique was born and raised in Santa Ana Ca. and from a young age, witnessed the tragedy of addiction and mental health by losing many of his loved ones to the disease. His interest for assisting others with addiction and mental health disorders inspired him to work in the substance abuse and mental health field.

Enrique has over 10 years of management experience in substance abuse and mental health in diverse organizations as well as knowledge in building curriculums for classes taught at his current and former treatment centers. His passion for helping others, especially those in recovery and mental health is one of the reasons he works closely with every client in treatment and with mental health and substance abuse professionals.
